Commonwealth Corporation is proud to support regional career pathways at Salem High School through the Career Technical Initiative.
Through CTI, Salem High School is helping students and adult learners gain hands-on skills for in-demand careers across the North Shore region, including electrical, HVAC, auto technology, and property maintenance.
We are also grateful for the partnership between the Commonwealth Corporation Foundation and the GE Vernova Foundation, with support from the Workforce Skills Cabinet, which is helping expand access to hands-on clean energy training equipment.
Thank you to Salem High School for hosting our team and partners and for showcasing these pathways in action.
It's a feather in our collective cap when we get to show off our Career Technical Education (CTE) facilities (and we appreciate the shoutout in the Common Thread Newsletter!).
In June, Salem High School hosted guests from the Commonwealth Corporation Foundation and the GE Vernova Foundation for a tour of the SHS CTE facilities and to meet with CTE administrators, HVAC and Electrical Career Technical Initiative (CTI) instructors, and students using the new, hands-on clean energy training equipment purchased with funding from the GE Vernova Foundation and the Workforce Skills Cabinet. They also enjoyed lunch prepared and served by students at the Black Cat Bistro.
Guests included Jennifer Edwards, Director of the GE Vernova Foundation & Company CSR; Kristen Rayne, Upskilling and Workforce System Director; Rainer Haarbusch, CTI Director; Matthew Pugsley, CTI Program Manager; and Natalie Mullen, Marketing Fellow.
