Enough is enough. That’s what the owners of this vessel said after battling constant generator headaches since buying their boat. The fix? Boston Yacht Services yanked the problematic generator out we promptly replaced it with our largest single power upgrade to date—a state-of-the-art, fully integrated lithium and solar ecosystem.
By utilizing the exact footprint of the old generator, we engineered a silent, redundant, and incredibly powerful system featuring:
🔋 Dual Victron Energy MultiPlus-II inverter/chargers running in parallel to power the boat's entire AC system—yes, including the air conditioning—without needing a generator or shore power.
⚡ Two massive Epoch Batteries 460Ah V2 Elite Class T batteries delivering reliable lithium power to both the inverters and the existing DC system.
☀️ Two 200W bimini-mounted solar panels from
Solar Panels & Systems | Vans | Boats for continuous, passive top-offs.
⚙️ An Arco Marine alternator and external regulator to rapidly recharge the entire bank while under way.
No more noise. No more diesel fumes. No more maintenance headaches. Just pure, silent, turn-key power whether they are anchored in Boston Harbor or island-hopping.
A massive thank you to these owners for trusting the M.P. Marine team with this milestone build!

Interesting article from Foghorn Focus breaks down why traditional "conservative oversizing" is ruining marine battery integration.
Batteries shouldn't push the diesel engine off center stage; they should support it. Sizing a system around your actual operational profile—using a battery to absorb peaks—allows you to downsize your generator, cut fuel usage drastically, and extend engine life.

No more "battery anxiety." Just the sound of the water. 🌊
Just finished giving this 2018 Beneteau Oceanis 38.1 a serious nervous system transplant. The owner wanted to move away from "managing" power and get back to enjoying the boat.
A massive 460Ah Epoch V2 Elite is at the heart of this system. We love these units because they don’t mess around—the integrated Class T fuse means we’re baking safety directly into the bank.
A Victron MultiPlus 12/2000 paired with a Cerbo GX serves as the brains. Now, the owner can check their battery SOC from the couch at home via Victron's Remote Management Portal.
We didn't just swap batteries; we ripped out the old guts and installed a fresh AC breaker panel to make sure everything is crisp, labeled, and 100% ABYC compliant.
