El Fondo de Empoderamiento Edwards se complace en anunciar que otorgaremos becas a padres locales que son activos en la comunidad y que actualmente buscan títulos secundarios en universidades, escuelas de comercio y belleza y clases de inglés del área de Boston. Por favor aplique si usted es un residente de East Boston, North End, Winthrop, West End, Beacon Hill, and East Fenway. Los beneficiarios serán ejemplos brillantes de lo que significa ser miembros de la comunidad involucrados y comprometidos.

La beca lleva el nombre de las “Maverick Street Mothers” o las “madres de maverick street” que fueron matriarcas de la comunidad de East Boston y establecieron el estándar de oro para la organización, el empoderamiento y la maternidad. Organizaron protestas comunitarias en la década de 1960 contra la propuesta de expansión del aeropuerto. The Edwards Empowerment Fund is happy to announce we will be awarding scholarships to local parents who are active in the community and are pursuing additional eduation at colleges, trade and beauty schools, and English language classes! Recipients will be shining examples of what it means to be involved and engaged community members. Please apply if you are a resident of East Boston, Revere, North End, Winthrop, West End, Back Bay, Beacon Hill, and East Fenway
Completed applications can be emailed to [email protected]. Applications are due at 5:00pm on May 31st.

The scholarship is named after the Maverick Street Mothers who were matriarchs of the East Boston community and set the gold standard for organizing, empowering, and motherhood. They organized community protests against proposed Airport expansion. We thank them and honor them through supporting parents who have shown dedication to our community.
