All the Tea in China

Happy New Year, everyone. We hope everyone was able to celebrate happily and healthily. Do you have any New Year's resolutions? Ours is to be more consistent with our (supposed to be) monthly tea book reviews.
The first book reviewed this year is "Yixing Pottery - The World of Chinese Tea Culture" by Chunfang Pan and it briefly explores the history behind this amazing teaware craftsmanship.

Looking for another good way to cool down this summer? Then maybe you'd be interested in trying a layered strawberry matcha latte. It's a bit more involved than the previous recipes posted, but it's worth the effort.

-Whisk 1½ teaspoons matcha powder with 3½ tablespoons of water heated to about 75°C / 170°F.
-Puree 2-3 strawberries with 1⁄4 cup water and pour into glass.
-Fill glass with as much ice as possible
-Pour 1⁄4 cup whole milk into glass
-Pour matcha tea into glass
***When pouring milk and tea into glass, pour slowly and try to hit the ice as much as possible to help create the separated/layered look (Clearly, we still have some more work to do on that front.)

*Optional: boil some tapioca pearls and place them in the glass before anything else to convert this into a boba/bubble tea.
