A huge “thank you” to Lamar Advertising of Boston-Providence for donating this valuable ad space for such an important cause– to raise donations of socks and funds to support people experiencing homelessness in our community. Every pair of clean socks shared with our patients helps to promote health and wellbeing, while offering some comfort and dignity to those who need it the most.

The countdown is on! We’re ten days away from BHCHP’s takeover of Fenway Park for our 21st annual Sox for Socks event!

During the July 20-22 homestand, when the Red Sox plays the Orioles, BHCHP staff and volunteers will be collecting donations of new, white cotton socks for our patients at all the entry gates of Fenway. If you’re coming to the games, you won’t miss us with our big signs and energetic cheers – and don’t forget to bring your socks to the games!

With Boston under an extreme heat watch this week, here is a quick PSA on what you can do to help our unhoused neighbors.

Our patients are disproportionately exposed to the heat and suffer higher rates of chronic health conditions compared to the general population, which can lead to more heat-related illnesses ranging from dehydration to heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

Often the first and most frequent point of care and comfort for so many patients, our nurses go above and beyond – every single day – to provide the highest quality health care to our patients. Whether they are based in outpatient clinics or in our 24/7 medical respite facility or in various administrative and leadership roles, their dedication to BHCHP’s mission and the people we serve knows no bounds.
