You can take the MBTA all the way to Malibu. Once you step out of the Red Line’s Savin Hill Station, you can already feel the cooler ocean air in Dorchester.
Park Sunday
Malibu Beach and Savin Hill Beach wrap around Dorchester Bay Basin, offering a beach for swimming or finding shells, and a view of seagulls and a family of egrets, an accessible boardwalk and parking along Morrissey Boulevard. There are showers both on the Savin Hill and Malibu Beach sides, but public bathrooms only along Malibu Beach and Morrissey Boulevard.

This Father's Day, if you're looking for a quiet walk that is wheelchair-friendly and stroller-accessible, go to Abigail Adams State Park. What had been a marine dredging operation and a car dealership is now a quiet spot along the Back River in Weymouth.
Where the main park opened in 2003, it's now expanded to the Kibby Property, which Community Preservation Act funds helped link together more open space along the water.
Abigail Adamswas born in Weymouth, MA. She was the wife of second US President John Adams, his most trusted advisor, and the mother of sixth US President John Quincy Adams, and is remembered as an early proponent of women’s rights. The park features some of her quotations, displayed on plaques.
