I went through a lot of hard challenges in life to inspire a song like this. If you've ever been betrayed or hurt by someone close to you, I hope this helps you vent out that confusion, pain and anger.
This one is special for a lot of reasons. I started this song off way back in 2016- mostly just as a drum beat with some strings and bass. I even performed it a couple of times at random War Twins shows (still in a much earlier state). But if you were there, and have a really good memory, maybe you'll recognize it.

Even though this was heavily inspired by a close friend who hurt me and my family badly, it also wasn't the first time I've felt stabbed in the back by someone close to me. The upside to that has been learning to reflect on what my role was in choosing these kinds of people to be vulnerable with. The toxic animals and plants always look so pretty, right? After this incident (ongoing for months and ended in court) It took a lot longer than I thought - about a year and a half - to feel like I could trust people again. This song was a big part of that healing process for me.

On another note, this is the first song I've written that I fully produced and mixed myself. The cherry on top was the song getting mastered by Ted Jensen (Green Day, The Police...He even mastered Hotel California...come on.)
