Some of you may or may not know that this is the 20th year anniversary of me releasing music to the world. Over the years, I've released hundreds of songs, tens of albums, several musicals, and some short films. It's never really paid my bills, but it's always been a good outlet for me and I hear I've had a majorly positive impact on others' lives from time to time, which makes me feel amazing when I think about it.

Anyway, I took my lifetime digital music sales data and analyzed it to see which online music distributors contributed the most over the years. This doesn't include the majority of royalties from licensed music and basically amounts to downloads and streams. My audience is mainly in North America, but around 15 percent are in Europe somewhere and about 10% are in Asia.

Here's what I found:

Digital Sales (2004 - 2024)

Apple Music & iTunes: 55%
Amazon Music: 11%
Spotify: 9%
Facebook: 7%
Napster: 4%
Rumblefish: 3%
eMusic: 2%
MediaNet: 2%
Deezer: 1%
Other Partners (124 total, including TikTok, YouTube Music, Verizon): 6%

I think the most surprising thing is to see Facebook have such a high contribution. I've never seen or heard my music on social media, but I do know that my Fortnite song gets some traction. ♥ I have to say thanks to Apple for either paying the most or putting me out there the hardest. ♥
