“What really became clear to me was the role that the in-classroom educator plays,” she said. “Yes, there are these big systems, but day to day, it comes down to the people who are face to face with students and grappling with their challenges.”

Cristal joined SES in 2021, supporting and advocating for undergraduate and graduate students. In her new role, Cristal will continue to expand her leadership while partnering with SES faculty and staff to support graduate program development and student success.
