After exploring the steep slate slopes of the Mosel and Ruwer, our Grand European Wine Tour continues eastward to two of Germany’s most influential wine regions: the Rheingau and Rheinhessen.

While the Mosel is celebrated for delicacy and tension, the Rheingau and Rheinhessen represent the heart of Germany’s Riesling tradition, where centuries-old estates stand alongside some of the country’s most innovative producers. These regions produce Rieslings of greater breadth, texture, and power while maintaining the freshness and precision that define Germany’s greatest wines.

2024 Ingrid Groiss Rosé, Weinviertel

Ingrid Groiss has become one of Austria’s most admired growers for elegant, understated wines that prioritize purity and finesse over extraction or power. Her farming is meticulous, and her wines consistently reflect restraint and precision.

2023 Meinklang Grüner Veltliner, Burgenland

Meinklang is one of Austria’s pioneering biodynamic estates, operating as a holistic farm that integrates vineyards, livestock, grains, and biodiversity into a self-sustaining ecosystem. Their wines emphasize vitality, energy, and minimal intervention.

2019 Stadlmann Traiskirchner Mandelhöh, Thermenregion

The Stadlmann family has produced wine in Austria’s Thermenregion since the 18th century and is regarded as one of the area’s benchmark traditional estates. Their wines emphasize elegance, longevity, and vineyard expression.
