Do you know why these stars appear red, white, and blue? 🔴⚪🔵
It all has to do with differences in their temperature! Blue stars are the hottest and radiate more high-energy ultraviolet light. Red stars are cooler, and emit lower-energy, infrared light.
Those white stars have “medium” temperatures- similar to our Sun. They radiate a mixture of light energy that we perceive as white!
Researching our Sun and stars across the universe is an important part of how LASP revolutionizes our understanding of the cosmos!⭐🌏

🚀 Happy National Logistics Day! ✈️
There’s more to a successful LASP mission than just building instruments and operating spacecraft. Logistics plays a critical role in our exploration of the cosmos.
In 2022, FedEx transported the LASP-built Surface Dust Analyzer (SUDA) from Colorado to California— launching this irreplaceable instrument on the first leg of its 3-billion-kilometer journey through the solar system.
By 2030, SUDA will be analyzing dust grains ejected from the surface of Jupiter’s icy moon Europa—a mission made possible with the help of our logistics partners.
Together, we figuratively and literally delivered the future of space science! 🔮 🔭

Yesterday morning, LASPians participated in Boulder’s Summer Bike & Walk to work day! 🚴 🚶♀️
This semiannual local holiday fosters community connection while promoting a sustainable way to get to work! 💼
Oh, and we can’t forget about the free breakfast. That alone was worth getting up for. 🐓☀️
LASP had its biggest turnout yet- 65 attendees visited our breakfast station! 🥞☕️
