Liz Quan Studio

These porcelain gestures are reminiscent of Chinese characters, yet carry a simpler unstructured elegance. I love the early drawn pictograms, hieroglyphics and cuneiforms that are so aesthetically and graphically engaging. While there is no literal message to my gestures, they relay a sensory interpretation. Incorporating silk remnants from the dresses my grandmother used to sew, further honors my Chinese heritage, and praises traditional and contemporary aesthetics collectively.
