Currently, our food system waste 40% of all the food that it produces. This is unacceptable while so many people live with food insecurity.

Some of the most effective ways that you can cut down on your own food waste is through proper food storage, cooking accurate portions to what you will be eating, and purchasing foods at a rate that you will go through them.

It takes a tremendous amount of water to grow the food that we eat, and when we waste food, we waste water. With this year's drought conditions, we can not afford to waste water.
