This Tuesday's Generosity Idea: This past Sunday was World Cities Day. Every successful community is built on a foundation of resilient infrastructure and innovation, like energy, transport, irrigation, and information technology. To meet future challenges, our industries and infrastructure must be upgraded, particularly in the least developed countries.

Ideas for our local communities:

- Host a collection for people to donate their unused, working mobile phones, and in turn raise the awareness about the lack of infrastructure for communication services that 1.5 billion people still do not have.

- Tape bus fare to a bus stop for someone in need, then advocate with your municipal government for fair, accessible public transportation options including high speed rail or free bike rental programs.

- Advocate for broadband access in rural & underserved areas.

- Support investments in infrastructure in the developing world.

- Are you a lawyer? Volunteer with your local legal aid society or be an advocate for a foster child or immigrant.
- Are you a graphic designer or a writer? Help a nonprofit develop a fundraising campaign or a build awareness for their mission.
