Surge Academy - Coding, Game Design, & Tech Training

Hey Everyone! Winter and Spring enrollment is now open at Surge Academy in Bountiful. We offer homeschool courses in coding, game design, and digital arts, taught in small, in-person classes with a hands-on, project-based approach.

The following courses available this semester on Wednesdays:

Python Programming
9:30am - 10:45am

Interactive Web Design & Storytelling (HTML/CSS)

Digital Photography

Each course is an 8-week session and is $149 per class, or two payments of $75.

Surge Academy is UFA-approved and our courses are listed on the Odyssey Marketplace. We are also an approved vendor for Harmony, Elevated Charter School, and the Children First Education Fund. Course fees qualify for reimbursement through OpenEd.

Coding, game design, and tech courses at Surge Academy are now live on the Utah Fits All (UFA) Scholarship Marketplace.

This means families who receive the UFA Scholarship can purchase our courses directly through the marketplace using their scholarship funds, without waiting for reimbursement.

FYI - We’ve recently added options for students to enroll quarterly if a full-year commitment is not the right fit. Not all of these quarterly options are live on the marketplace yet, but we expect them to be soon. Hey everyone! I’m excited to share that Surge Academy is now enrolling for Fall 2025 in our brand-new location in Bountiful! We offer engaging STEM, coding, game design, and digital media classes for homeschoolers - virtual cohorts are available too.

Our once-a-week in-person programs include:
• First Bytes for early learners ages 4–6 (Tuesdays)
• Homeschool Tech Creators for students ages 7–17 (Wednesdays)

Both full-day and single-course options are available. Classes cover real tech skills including coding, digital arts, video game design, and 21st-century computer skills. No experience is needed, and we provide all the equipment, including computers. Class sizes are small, so early registration is recommended.

I'm also offering 6–7 week virtual cohorts for Fall. Students follow a structured weekly schedule with a small group of peers and meet 1:1 with me via Zoom each week for live coaching and progress check-ins.
