Just a reminder about this once a year educational opportunity for teachers (K-12), Scout and 4-H Club leaders and FFA Advisors:
The Raritan Valley Beekeepers Association (a branch of the New Jersey Beekeepers Association) invites 4-H Club leaders to apply for the Educators Memorial Scholarship to our 2026 Beginner Beekeeping Short Course!
The Course will be held at the Somerset County Environmental Education Center. It will consist of 2 class days - Sat. April 11 and Sat. April 25, and a Field Day in the bee yard in May, date to be determined.
Our scholarship is open to teachers of preschool through community college as well as 4-H leaders, Scout leaders and FFA advisors. Last year's recipient was a 4-H leader!
Applicants need not have beekeeping experience, but must have a genuine interest in beekeeping and the intention of sharing, through professional or structured volunteer activities, what they learn in this course. The full scholarship of $150.00 covers class tuition, textbook, and handouts. Completion of this course fulfills the requirement the NJ State requirement for beekeeper education. The recipient will receive a certificate of completion after attending all three course days.
