Happy Almost Fourth of July! This year is extra special — we're celebrating America's 250th birthday! Here are some fun facts to get you in the patriotic spirit:
• Fireworks were John Adams' idea. He predicted the holiday would be celebrated with "illuminations from one end of this continent to the other"!
• Did you know? The Declaration of Independence was officially adopted on July 4th, but all 56 founders didn't sign it until August 2, 1776.
• The original American flag had only 13 stars one for each of the original colonies.
• One president shares our birthday! Calvin Coolidge was born on July 4, 1872 the only U.S. president born on Independence Day.
• Americans eat around 155 million hot dogs every Fourth of July. We're guessing a few of those will be enjoyed right here with us!
