Mikey’s story is one of determination, drive, ambition, and years of hard work. At 16 years old Mikey left his family in South Africa and came to the US to pursue a dream that he has wanted since a kid in karting: to be a Professional Racer and to build something bigger than himself. Mikey has over 100+ podium finishes, 9 Lap records in 2 different continents, and over 16 years of international racing experience. He is a registered, Official Audi Sport Trained Instructor, Official Porsche Trained Instructor, Xtreme Xperience Lead Instructor, Ferrari Product Training, and 6+ years exotic car training/experience.

Mikey stepped away from racing in 2016 to pursue his passion for entrepreneurship and helped build the organization, Out There Brands. He, with some others, saw a need for a company that offers extreme personalization in the branding industry and founded his company in order to fill it, building custom-made products to bring attention to their customers. Using his experience in the sporting industry, Michael focused on working with suppliers and forming partnerships to utilize only the best materials and products from around the world.

In 2018 he was approached to get back into a car and decided to seize this opportunity. It started off just doing a few races and soon realized he missed the feeling of being in a car, out on the track, and simply missed racing. He competed at the Petit Le Mans is a sports car endurance race held annually at Road Atlanta in Braselton, Georgia, in the Michelin Tire Series racing an Audi RS3 TCR Car and finished 4th.

Now in 2019, Mikey is back and more excited than ever on a new venture working with Unitronic and JDC Miller Motorsports in the number 17 Audi RS3 TCR car. “My goal is to be able to enjoy a successful career competing at the highest level of sportscar racing in North America, utilizing my business connections to bring value to sponsors and teams. Racing at the 24 Hours of Le Mans is a lifelong dream I hope to achieve.”- Mikey T.
