🇺🇸🎆 Happy 250th Independence Day from the Brevard Fire Department! 🎆🇺🇸

Today we're celebrating 250 years of freedom, family, and fireworks! As you enjoy the festivities, we'd like to offer a few friendly reminders about when to—and when *not* to—call 911.

🚨 **Please call 911 if:**
🔥 Your fireworks catch your house, garage, woods, or your neighbor's prize-winning hydrangeas on fire.
🚑 Someone is injured.
⚠️ A situation is out of control or there's an actual emergency.

🚫 **Please don't call 911 because:**
🎇 Your neighbor's fireworks are louder than yours.
🎇 You think the fireworks "started a little early."
🎇 You lost your sparkler in the yard.
🎇 Your cousin insists he "does this every year" and you just want us to watch.
🎇 You heard a loud boom and your first thought was, "I wonder if BPD knows what that was?"

And speaking of our friends at the Brevard Police Department...

We'll save them a seat on the fire truck anytime they want to see what the cool rigs look like. We know they're busy directing traffic, chasing down the occasional bottle rocket complaint, and pretending they don't wish they had sirens that sound this good. 😉

In all seriousness, we're proud to work alongside BPD and all of our public safety partners to keep Brevard safe during this historic Independence Day celebration.

Have fun, celebrate responsibly, keep a water hose or extinguisher nearby if you're using legal fireworks, and remember...
