You know, interestingly enough, I’ve always considered myself someone into preventative measures - in my reason for being and doing things - which is kind of comical, because in my blindness in my own personal endeavors I couldn’t prevent a lot of things. That being said, it’s interesting to me as the pendulum swings toward the increasingly blackening side of this life we live together. Politically speaking, and the the gamut of all the others, it’s wild how dark it truly is when you look at it with your goggles squeaky clean at the top and the bottom - meaning how things are being run and how it affects the rest. It makes me literally pause and look around like… wow. It’s gotten to the point where there are so many elephants in the room we’re not talking about, we’re pressed up against the wall tightly, and I don’t write about this enough, I feel.

In fact, I don’t just share on social media about the last piece of toast I ate, or when I went to the bathroom, or how I like someone’s hair on Instagram. I try to keep it light, and this may be a little dry for your taste and humor; however, it’s laugh or cry, and I always choose to look at things on the bright side. So yes, I share when it matters. Quality, not quantity - right? I believe in quality. Not saying everything I do is the best - far from it - but posting for a reason, yes.

As some of you know, my life has been about writing songs and performing through the right conduit to people that only God knows need to hear it. Music to me is not solely entertainment. Surely people will be entertained, and that’s a good thing, but music definitely needs to transfer energy and emotion and evoke emotion for a reason. So instead of posting about my music right now, I figured I’d write and mention the pendulum swinging and the elephants in the room.

I know there are people out there like, “Dude. Yes, the world looks crazy. Who can you trust? Who’s kind and not just thoughtlessly nice? Who are my friends? What matters? Why so much gold throughout the Vatican and in the house of our leader when others are hungry? Why so much imbalance?” But yes, It takes imbalance to create change. The seesaw only works because of imbalance - it’s amazing. Yes, it needs to get darker before it gets lighter.

My friends, hopefully I’ll be around for a while. I have been extreme in my past - initially very loving as a child, then very scarred, very angry, then awakened; then very religious; and then back to my senses, realizing we just need to love each other and help each other like we would like to be helped. Not just walk by that homeless dude literally starving in the streets, and with all of our might try not to look or say something, or - God forbid - they speak to us and you feel compelled to answer or fight off that impelling force that’s only natural, that makes you feel like you should talk to someone, or - like I said - God forbid, help them.

This world needs so much consideration and thought and help and change. So back to preventative measures: I always consider myself someone who tries to eat well and feed my family well so we don’t get cancer, frankly. I write music to help the world and the people in it overcome hardships and all the crap out there and all the crappy people that throw their hate around consciously or unconsciously like others don’t matter. Well, they do.

I will always stand for the defenseless and the helpless against the bullies, from the top to the bottom. It definitely looks like instead of preventative measures being taken musically, It’s literally about helping to pick up the pieces we’ve lost along the way as a result of the blows taken from decisions being made from the top that affect our personal lives below in the 99%.

There they are… there we are… where do you stand in this whole thing? Well, I’ve said enough for today. Those of you who choose to do good every day - you know who you are. I salute you. As my wife says, life is too short and too beautiful to waste. Enjoy your day, take a look around, and ask yourself, like Jack Johnson said in his song Upside Down, “Is this how it’s supposed to be?”

Hello—resurfacing after time in the woodshed.
New material’s coming to life in stripped-down acoustic sets with that early 2000s rock feel.
I’ll be performing at new venues soon—dates to come.
Thanks to those who’ve stayed on the road with me.

Hello friends, here I’m playing one of my favorite hits of all time, a song titled – How To Save A Life by The Fray.

My thoughts…. If we only knew exactly how to save the lives of those we love, then I’m thinking we surely would… wouldn’t we?

This song always moves me. You can feel it when they’re driving home the chorus in the original version of theirs and especially in the official video. I do my best to do the song justice with respect to the writers. It’s a great song.

Here is my rendition, switching the piano up for an acoustic. Hope it moves you and raises your awareness.
