Vertiv announced the acquisition of Strategic Thermal Labs LLC, to strengthen our engineering capability at the interface between server‑side liquid cooling and supporting infrastructure — an increasingly critical factor in high‑density, AI‑driven data center environments.

As AI and high‑performance computing deployments accelerate, system‑level performance and reliability are increasingly shaped by how cold plates, flow dynamics, controls behavior, and serviceability interact across the thermal and power chains. Bringing this specialized expertise in‑house is expected to help Vertiv better simulate and emulate real high‑density compute conditions, optimize system interaction, and improve reliability and lifecycle outcomes across liquid‑cooled environments.

The acquisition reinforces Vertiv’s thermal‑chain strategy while remaining aligned with our commitment to open, interoperable, server‑ and silicon‑agnostic infrastructure ecosystems.

Vertiv set to join the S&P 500 index

S&P Dow Jones Indices has announced that Vertiv Holdings (VRT) will be added to the S&P 500 index, effective March 23, 2026.
