Valerie Barretto is a professionally trained singer-songwriter and vocal instructor with over a decade of performance experience throughout the South Shore and surrounding areas. She has studied vocal performance since the age of 13 and developed a strong technical and musical foundation through extensive involvement in theatre and vocal ensembles. Valerie earned a Bachelor of Arts in Classical Vocal Performance from the University of Massachusetts, graduating cm laude in 2011. Her formal training includes choir, chamber choir, and opera ensemble during college, as well as continued participation in multiple choirs following graduation.

A multi-time New England Music Award–nominated artist, Valerie has been recognized in several categories, including Country Artist of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, and Performer of the Year. Her professional career highlights include performing before an audience of 30,000 at Gillette Stadium, releasing two original records—Hurt & Healing and The Lucky Ones—as well as recording multiple singles. Drawing from her extensive performance background and past teaching experience, Valerie is excited to work with students of all ages, helping them build strong vocal technique, confidence, and a genuine connection to music.

Valerie teaches a wide range of styles, from classical foundations to contemporary pop, with a special enthusiasm for Disney repertoire. Outside of teaching and performing, she enjoys traveling, being outdoors, horseback riding, paddle boarding, and spending time with friends.
