The making of The Goodness Initiative

We began Making Spirits Bright with the hope of helping families over the holidays. Just over four years later, the organization has grown tremendously, allowing us to assist more than 2,000 deserving people with warm clothes, necessities, and gifts. We knew all along that while we were making a difference, we wanted to do more.

We expanded our organization into a year-round endeavor with the creation of The Goodness Initiative. The Goodness Initiative is now the umbrella organization for Making Spirits Bright and the Youth Volunteer Network. As we grow there will be room for more programs under the umbrella.

The Youth Volunteer Network allows kids to take a more proactive approach to volunteering and doing service-based work in our community. Under our direction the will be designing their own fundraisers or service projects to assist a specific need in our community. They'll do all the work related to the project... identifying goals, planning, marketing, advertising seeking donations... whatever is needed to complete things successfully.

The Youth Volunteer Network is a great opportunity to give back to our community while helping kids in the program develop life skills like time management, problem-solving, communicating and teamwork.

The Goodness Initiative is proud to be connecting communities through kindness.
