What you're really watching is whether anything is showing strain. Voltage stable, temps flat: it's holding. Something trending the wrong way: that's a finding, and you've got it at a controlled load before it becomes a bigger problem. Step up the load gradually and a struggling component tells you before it fails. Push to peak all at once and the first sign is usually something else breaking alongside it.
