This weekend in Sarasota, CRI's Simeon John won gold in the Men's Youth Single Scull at the 2026 USRowing Youth Nationals — finishing three seconds ahead of the field. It's the culmination of years of work, rising from third place to silver to national champion. Simeon, the entire CRI community is so proud of you!

Belonging isn't found. It's created. And on Giving Day, you created it. 🎉

Together, we raised more than $226,000 — every gift a ripple, every ripple a reason to keep showing up. Thank you for being part of this community, on the water and off.

Lieutenant Winthrop John Edwards wasn't looking for a workout. He was looking for a team.

After leaving active service, Winthrop came to Community Rowing, navigating the transition to civilian life - searching for the structure, purpose, and connection that military service had given him. He found it on CRI's Military Team.

"The camaraderie on the Military Team feels strikingly familiar to what I experienced in the service. Rowing demands trust — one weak link affects the whole boat, and one committed teammate can elevate everyone."

At the 2025 San Diego Crew Classic, a quiet moment at sunrise before competition began said everything. "There was a calm confidence in knowing we had put in the work together."

Winthrop didn't find belonging at CRI. He helped create it - and so do you. Give now and keep the door open for the next person who needs exactly this.

April is Volunteer Appreciation Month, and we couldn't let it pass without saying: thank you.

Our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do at the Harry Parker Boathouse — from supporting regattas to cheering on athletes to helping keep our programs running smoothly. Every hour you give makes rowing more accessible for more people in our community.

The singles fleet is complete!

29 brand-new HUDSON singles arrived at the Harry Parker Boathouse—our first step in a full fleet replacement from HUDSON Boat Works. This plan was developed in 2015 to replace our entire fleet. 2026 marks the third cycle of this turnover. Next year we will replace our 28 eights and in 2028 we’ll replace our 40 doubles, quads and fours.

Investing in high-quality equipment helps ensure every rower at CRI has access to great boats and that every rower has a place of inclusion on the water.

We can’t wait to see these singles out on the river—hope to see you at the boathouse (and in a brand-new Hudson) soon!
