It's Mental Health Awareness Month. Just like physical health, our mental health is always fluctuating based on how well we take care of it.
Do a self-assessment to keep an eye on how you've been lately. You can check in on your level of stress, overwhelm, joy, peacefulness, loneliness, and connection to others. While these are always changing and that's normal, check out patterns over time. Have you had a lot of stress and loneliness for several weeks with little joy or peacefulness? Look for patterns that balance across all our human emotions and experiences.
And if you don't have one, now's a great time to find a licensed therapist who's a good fit for you.
Then you can easily return to therapy anytime you need to, just like having a regular doctor you see for check ups and as needed.

Change is hard - and will continue. Learning to navigate it with more ease becomes essential at some point to not hit a breaking point.
Try these 5 tips for handling it better:
- Slow down for a brief break
- Create a mantra that encourages resilience
- Remember your successes
- Don't try to do it all
- Reach out to your people (or your therapist)
