I’m so excited to announce a huge spruce up in my retail space! There’s been a lot of this and that, filling my shelves for a while. Truth is… it’s really hard, as a sole proprietor, to fully commit to a hair product brand. I’ve got all these boxes that need to be checked before I decide a brand deserves to be sold in my space. Meet Aluram! It’s a clean ingredient line that’s produced here in the US. It has a product solution for ALL hair types. I’ve been using it on myself, and truly love the results. Each product does what it says. It’s extremely budget friendly… you cannot find a quality brand at the Aluram price point anywhere else!

Now offering these hydrating wax hand treatments! Help to soothe and repair dry skin while the warmth of the heated wax feels so good this time of year! It really is a treat! Can be added on to any salon service.

Just a little reminder… it’s good to give your hair a break sometimes! Put down your blow dryer and round brush; keep the heat tools in the drawer! Just let your hair be! You may find you do this just for a season, or you may find you love your hair more! I know it’s uncomfortable. I am not saying you shouldn’t put any effort into it, and am not saying you shouldn’t use products. So many people have natural texture and movement that they fight every single day, and at some point, the health of your hair is compromised. It takes some trial and error to find what products and process works for your hair. I suggest starting with a leave-in conditioner, some sort of styling cream, and finish off with a texturizing or anti-frizz spray (if needed). Air-dry, or if your hair needs a little oomph, do a quick rough dry at the roots. If you have waves, like me, the diffuser attachment is nice. Let me know how it works for you!!

It’s time for spring cleaning, so don’t forget to clean out your hair products!
Pro tip: while it may sound wasteful…if you’ve had hair products, for more than a year-18 months , it’s a good idea to toss them. Most hair products have a 2 year shelf life, cleaner brands are closer to 1 year shelf life! I’ve experienced an allergic reaction from expired ingredients/products, and it wasn’t fun. A rash that started on my face/neck, and quickly spread down the rest of my body. Good thing I put 2 and 2 together, fairly quickly, could treat and got rid of the products. I’ve had clients tell me similar stories!
1. Larger sizes aren’t better, if it takes you years to use it up. Even if you don’t get an allergic reaction, the ingredients break down and aren’t as effective.
2. Be mindful of where you are purchasing your products. These aren’t things to purchase from Amazon/department stores/discount stores, since they typically aren’t getting those products directly from the brand. In general, be leary to purchase from retailers who aren’t moving through the products on their shelves quickly.
3. If you have a hairstylist you trust, purchase from them. I prefer to keep my retail inventory low so I don’t have expired products on my shelves. I encourage clients to send me special orders of what they need, so I get it directly from the brand or professional distributor. I also have affiliate links so my customers can support me as well as get their products, directly from the brand, shipped to their home.
