Adoption Update on Hugh!

We adopted our dog in February 2024. His name was Hugh then, we named him Cash. He was just the ring bearer in our wedding this past weekend May 30. We are so so in love with him and thought you would love an update ❤️

Featured Pet Friday!

Come meet Ruca! Ruca came to us from Louisiana and she's a 1 year old Catahoula Leopard mix. She loves being pet and getting attention from everyone she meets. Ruca may be reserved at first but she's looking for a patient adopter who will give her the chance to settle in and shine. As her confidence grows, her sweet personality comes through more and more.

🍪 Meet Cookie 🍪

We welcomed Cookie to Elmbrook Humane Society on May 15 after transferring her from MADACC. This sweet 4-year-old French Bulldog mix quickly stole our hearts with her gentle personality, impeccable manners, and love for everyone she meets—both people and dogs.

Despite her cheerful spirit, Cookie arrived with several serious medical issues. She is suffering from chronic ear disease, including severe otitis externa and dense polyps in both ears, a broken canine tooth, and breathing difficulties. To give Cookie the comfort and quality of life she deserves, she will need multiple procedures, including a bilateral TECA (Total Ear Canal Ablation), a dental procedure to remove her broken tooth, palate correction surgery, and her spay surgery.

Altogether, Cookie's medical care is expected to cost approximately $10,000.

Even though Cookie is likely experiencing significant discomfort, she greets every day with a wagging tail and a happy attitude. Her resilience inspired us to put her quality of life first and give her the chance she deserves. That's why we launched our One Tough Cookie fundraiser.

Cookie's first surgeries are scheduled for July 13, and our goal is to raise $5,000 before then to help cover the costs of her spay, dental procedure, and palate correction.
