Yesterday was another great day at Minnesota Business Venture!

Campers heard from keynote speakers Debra Hurston, Executive Director of the Association for Black Economic Power, and Benson B. Webb Jr., Accredited Behavioral Finance Professional. They shared the importance of financial literacy and discussed budgeting, investing, and building generational wealth. Throughout the day, students attended Philanthropy and Financial Literacy breakout sessions, where they did simulations and learned about giving back, budgeting, credit, identity theft, paying for college, and investing. Campers also spent time putting the finishing touches on their business projects in preparation for their presentations. We are proud of all the hard work campers have put in this week and we can’t wait to see them present tomorrow!

Yesterday, Minnesota Business Venture campers kicked off their first day of camp! 🎉

The day began with registration and icebreakers as campers met new people and started building connections. We also had the opportunity to hear from our keynote speaker, Daniela Vasan, the founding principal of Hiawatha Leadership Academy - Northrop, who shared her story on following dreams. Throughout the day, campers met with their company groups, introduced themselves, and began working together. The night ended with Junk Night skits, where campers put their creativity and teamwork on display with an impromptu infomercial. It was a great start to the week, and we’re excited to see all they accomplish in the days ahead!
