Rats Community

This has been in my family for at least 3 generations. Am trying to get information on what it was originally used for, age and value. Thank you for any information.

After lye I found what I thought would be a BSR then I noticed the tiny flat spot on bottom of handle. It’s stamped 7G4 no other markings help with ID please.

This is nicely restored, but oof, that price! Am I missing something?
