Brad Garlinghouse has reiterated the company’s ambition to position XRP as a faster and more efficient alternative to the traditional SWIFT network used by banks for cross-border payments. According to Garlinghouse, Ripple’s blockchain-based payment solution aims to streamline global transactions by reducing settlement times and costs, addressing the inefficiencies that have long plagued the legacy system.

However, despite its progress and partnerships with financial institutions worldwide, Ripple continues to face significant hurdles in fully replacing SWIFT. Regulatory challenges, institutional resistance, and limited global adoption remain key obstacles to achieving its vision.
