In addition to making new work while in residence, artists in our Photographer in Residence program have the opportunity to host a public program.
These programs have taken shape in a variety of ways, from youth workshops to photowalks and portrait days. Collaborations with these photographers on programs have extended beyond the residency.
At WORTHLESS, our public programs are an important opportunity to connect community members with the artists we support, offering photographers the chance to share their knowledge, and neighbors a chance to engage and learn more about the art-making process.

On Friday, June 5, will present a public art installation in Latham Square, Oakland, in partnership with the City of Oakland and Oakland’s Cultural Affairs Division . 📞🎈
The phone booth will honor the heavenly birthdays of 14 Black and Brown victims of police violence, and will be installed in the Square for the summer.
Passersby will experience an installation that serves as a communal space to engage with the full humanity of the Celebrants, whose lives were stolen by state-sanctioned violence.
Join us on Friday, 6-7 pm on Opening Day to celebrate the installation of the booth with community members and the City of Oakland. 🗓️

Congratulations Abigail DeVille , one of the shortlisted artists for WARP 2026! We received an overwhelming response to the 2026 WARP Open Call, reaffirming the urgent need for sculpture-focused residency programs in New York. 💥
From an exceptional pool of applicants, 4 artists have been shortlisted for WARP 2026. The artists are Patricia Ayres , Abigail DeVille , Andrew Ross , and Alix Vernet . We’ll announce the selected artist soon.
Today, we are highlighting Abigail DeVille, . DeVille’s work was just on view in the group exhibition MONUMENTS at MOCA LA, and some of her recent shows were at Prospect 6., Bronx Museum of the Arts, Madison Square Park Conservancy, and Hirshhorn Museum Sculpture Garden. She received her MFA from Yale University and her BFA from the Fashion Institute of Technology. Her work interrogates our future past through investigating historical fragments of information and the material waste of the present.
WARP was created by WORTHLESSSTUDIOS in partnership with to address a major gap in the arts ecosystem by giving artists access not only to funding, but to the technical resources, infrastructure, and institutional support necessary to realize complex, large-scale sculptural work.
