Our long time friend with my wife at the book signing for her new book, “And The Ancestor Sings”. A beautiful historical fantasy taking place in China during the 80’s, where the heroine moves from the countryside to the big city. It is a well researched novel that includes Radha’s 10+ years experience living abroad in China and talking with native Chinese people about their lived experience. invited me to play at his birthday celebration in his Dumbo studio. I’ve always felt intimidated by the idea of a solo performance. My thought was that music for sleep and meditation would bore a live audience that isn’t actively meditating or in a yoga class. So I’ve always stuck to performing for classes and retreats. But Bez’s friends were wildly supportive and encouraging after this performance (even with my microphone accidentally turned off) Has me thinking differently about it and I look forward to putting something together in 2026!
