Looking back at this season, starting with January's wildest ride: Age of Content. This riotous, kinesthetic performance from the French multidisciplinary collective (LA)HORDE and Ballet national de Marseille explored how identity is fractured in the digital age, asking what remains singular about the living, breathing body.

James Blood Ulmer has passed away.

A legendary artist at the forefront of avant-garde funk, jazz, blues, and more, James was a renowned singer and electric guitarist. He graced our stage twice, alongside in 2022 for “Ornette Coleman: The Shape of Jazz to Come,” and back in 2005 for BAM Rhythm & Blues Festival at MetroTech.

He will be deeply missed.
