Paris has always felt like coming home. There’s something so special about returning to your hometown to talk about the future of capital and our 🌎. ✨
The Royal Versailles Ball celebrates soft power and the long arc of the France-Britain relationship. This year, it brought together a new generation of investors, fund managers, entrepreneurs, and leaders across business, tech, media, and politics who are accelerating their investments in solutions.
What struck me most wasn’t any single discussion; it was the through-line across all of them. Whether we were talking about geothermal and renewable energy, water infrastructure, waste management, economic mobility, and regenerative agriculture solutions; or the future of finance, media & entertainment, and tech & AI; every conversation returned to the same conviction: resilient economies, thriving communities, and a healthy planet aren’t trade-offs. They’re deeply intertwined. We need to break the silos, redefine risk, and invest in ways that are really building that interconnected future.
We also talked honestly about what it takes to get there — increasing affordability and accessibility, building real human connection across differences, and holding steady through constant change and uncertainty. That groundedness, alongside the energy and ingenuity in the room, was so inspiring.
Reminiscing on starting my career in Paris 20+ years ago in documentary films and at The World Bank, I’m so thankful for the serendipitous and how my journey has brought all of these threads together (creativity, finance, and entrepreneurship). ✨.
A très bientôt Paris. Merci pour une merveilleuse semaine avec un grand soleil ☀️.
Grateful to my friends Antonia Teixeira and Joe Flippin who made all of this possible.
Spending the past two weeks meeting with investors across Rio and São Paulo has been incredibly energizing. 🇧🇷🌴
It’s also reinforced a core truth: everything is connected. We can’t solve massive global challenges by investing in silos. Water, agriculture, energy, infrastructure—these sectors rise and fall together.
To close the $5 trillion annual financing gap for solutions, we have to shift toward systemic investing across private markets. And just as importantly? We need to make innovative finance more visible and understandable across media and entertainment. 💡
