Something I've been thinking about a LOT lately (like for the last four years at least) is how it's so easy to think of endings as failures, when like...everything ends. So...how is that...a failure?

I struggled for years with realizing that I didn't want to keep scaling my business. I didn't want to keep growing it. I kept pushing myself and I kept believing I would find the love in it again and that I just needed to hustlegrindgirlbossbabe harder, and then it would all make sense again. And like...it just...didn't. But then I struggled with the question of what does it MEAN if I don't keep doing this? Have I failed? Have I failed, even though I made my own decision to exit when I did, and with no debts owed and plenty of money in the bank? Did I fail because I didn't stick with it?

Maybe to some people I did. But "having the courage to exit early" was something that kept echoing in my head, and so I think it's worth it to rethink those narratives and reframe them - doing the thing you're "supposed to do" even though you're past done with it may not be the perseverance story we keep telling ourselves it is.
