Recess

For a decade, Assembly has existed as a space for young people to expand their dreams, actualize themselves into being, resource their communities, and utilize collaboration as a path toward collective healing. Rooted in abolition, collective care, and the belief that everyone deserves the resources and freedom to become who they are, Assembly has grown into a vibrant community of artists, organizers, educators, and collaborators.

Evidence of Becoming celebrates this first decade with 67 artworks by 24 artists, alongside performances, workshops, conversations, and community resources. More than a retrospective, the exhibition unfolds as a living archive of experimentation, transformation, and shared learning—honoring the many people who have shaped Assembly while reminding us that becoming is never a destination, but an ongoing practice we build together.
