Yesterday, United States Attorney Michael DiGiacomo from the Western District of New York awarded Buffalo Supervisory Special Agent Randall Garver with the Hometown Hero Award for his exceptional efforts to protect children and his dedicated service to the community. The Hometown Hero award commemorates the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States and honors the ideals of Liberty, Service, and Civic Responsibility.

SSA Garver has been assigned to the FBI Buffalo Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force for over 11 years and has tirelessly led or played a major role in hundreds of investigations that resulted in the identification and prosecution of offenders who have exploited children.

Congratulations to SSA Garver for this well-earned honor.

Today, Buffalo was honored to participate in the Law Enforcement Torch Run alongside our law enforcement family and community partners in support of Special Olympics New York.

Every step of this year's run was dedicated to the memory of our colleagues and friends, Bill Fallon and Leah Bellitto.

While Bill and Leah are no longer with us, their legacy lives on through the people they inspired, the work they accomplished, and the commitment we share to protecting the American people.

FBI Buffalo was proud to run in their memory and carry their legacy forward.

Today’s cyber threat is not limited to criminals seeking money. We face sustained campaigns from cybercriminal and nation-state actors who use cyber operations to steal data, disrupt services, and pre-position for future conflict. The private sector, responsible for operating much of the nation’s critical infrastructure, is a constant target of hostile threat actors.

Last week FBI - Buffalo hosted Western New York business executives at an Executive Cyber Summit, where FBI Cyber Deputy Assistant Director Jason Bilnoski, and FBI Buffalo personnel, provided a threat overview and information on how the FBI partners with the private sector.
