RENEW scientists participate in the Second Annual Erich Bloch Materials Design and Innovation Symposium at UB. This year's theme is 'Accelerating Innovation for a Regenerative Economy'. So far the key message is all about the importance of integrating social and economic expertise to enhance material innovation and science!

RENEW is hosting Sebastian Copeland, renowned polar explorer, for the upcoming Distinguished Lecture Series on Thursday, June 7th. Copeland an award-winning photographer, author, environmental advocate and explorer will discuss “Global Warming and a Call to Action: How Ice Foretells the Next Systematic Transformation”. Copeland will be speaking in the Marquis Ballroom of the Hotel at Lafayette at 391 Washington St., Buffalo at 3:00 p.m. The lecture is free and open to the public. Citizen Scientists Needed for Buffalo Climate Research!
Volunteers are needed to take part in a UB RENEW study on the impacts of heat and cold events in Erie County. If you do not have central air conditioning in your home and are at least 18 years of age, you may be eligible to participate. See attached flyer for more information.

Dr.Susan Spierre Clark, Policy, Planning and Sustainability Specialist at UB Renew served on a panel discussing 'Sustainable Solutions and Champions of Change' at the 4th Annual Women in STEM Cooperative Summit 2018 held at the University of Buffalo. Dr.Clark spoke about improving socio-technological resilience and sustainability of critical infrastructure systems to climate change.

RENEW is pleased to invite affiliated faculty to be part of the ‘RENEW Strategic SEED Investment Opportunity’. Proposals that align with the RENEW Focus areas including, ‘Next-Generation Materials for Energy, Environment & Water; Freshwater Coastal Ecosystems and Blue Economy; Environmental Exposures, Genomes and Health; Sustainable Urban Environments; and Climate Change and Socio-economic Impacts’ are sought.
