It's Black History Month! And I want to highlight this dope exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum that Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz put together celebrating Black art and artists.
It's called No Commission and it's all about giving a platform to these amazing but overlooked Black creators.
There's going to be paintings, photography, sculptures - all types of art on display by something like over 200 Black artists!
And get this - Swizz and Alicia made sure that all the art is available for purchase with no gallery commission.
So, all the proceeds go straight to the artists. Thatβs major!
And this aligns wonderfully with this year's theme: African Americans and the Arts.
It just makes me so proud to see our sis Alicia and Swizz shining a light on these super-talented Black artists who haven't gotten their due. This is exactly what Black History Month is all about - celebrating our culture and the barrier-breaking people in our community.

Itβs important to note that self-doubt can affect any Woman regardless of her successes, position, education, or accolades. π
High-Achieving women face many challenges in the professional realm.
We have been known to Underestimate our skills and capabilities. π’
This tendency can be deeply rooted in societal expectations, cultural norms, and personal experiences.
This phenomenon, often referred to as the βconfidence gap,β manifests in various ways and can have significant implications for our professional successes.
Overcoming self-doubt first starts with acknowledgment. Then addressing these issues head-on can be less arduous with a supportive community.
Women Only Networks (WON) provides brave and safe spaces for mentorship and it promotes positive representation.
