The Europeans and Youth Worlds 2026 – Suomen Lightningliitto The open Europeans and ILCA Youth World Championships 2026 will be sailed on Lake Tuusula, Finland in June. The event is organized by Tuusulanjärven Purjehtijat, who also hosted the Youth Worlds in 2012.

The International Lightning Class Association kicks off the European & Finnish National Championships today, and the 2026 Lightning Youth World Championship is just one week away.

Sailors from around the globe are arriving in Finland as Lake Tuusula prepares to welcome the Lightning community for two weeks of world-class racing, competition, and camaraderie.

The Charleston Yacht Club is excited to host this year’s event. Teams will have the opportunity to gather in the Burgee Bar on Friday evening before racing begins, followed by dinner in the Flag Room on Saturday night. It’s shaping up to be a fantastic weekend of sailing and camaraderie in Charleston.
