It's very cool to see one of UB's faculty featured on the recently released SUNY Open Educational Resources (OER) handout to help encourage the adoption of OER. Jessica Sloan Kruger is a great asset to UB and SUNY and she is also this year's FACT2 teaching excellence recipient. In talking with her, it is clear that she cares deeply about making a difference in student's lives.

Registration is now open for Fall Case Study Teaching in Science Conference

Friday, Sept. 27 to Saturday, Sept. 28, 2019 • Buffalo, NY

The annual Fall Case Study Teaching in Science Conference, led by Clyde (Kipp) Herreid, SUNY Distinguished Teaching Professor and director of the National Center for Case Study Teaching in Science, offers sessions for both the beginner and advanced case study teacher.

Workshop sessions include teaching cases using backward design, multimedia learning principles, developing cases using biointeractive videos, high school methods of engaging students and more.

Joseph Kim, associate professor in psychology, neuroscience and behavior, McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, will address the general conference on "Motivating Durable Learning: Focused Attention Through Instructional Design."
