We just completed a project consisting of the transfer of 15 reels of two-inch Quad high-band videotape, creating files for the client. He is thrilled and so are we.
Here are some samples from those reels. For those not familiar with what TV production was like in 1971, you will see how complex it can be with staging, live audiences and magic tricks. Good takes, bad takes and laughter on set. It is part of the process.
It was a pleasure to provide up close and personal services to this client.
For those interested in the process of media migration, the third-generation Ampex AVR-1 was used for the recovery. This machine has world-class tape handling characteristics and top-notch signal processing. It is able to handle with ease vintage magnetic media such as these 55 year old two-inch Quad recordings.
