Athletic trainers ask about salaries, settings, and whether a better opportunity exists all the time.

Usually anonymously.

Because in a profession this small, being seen as “looking” can have consequences.

That problem is exactly why I’m launching the AT Finder Talent Network.

Here’s how it works:

ATs join for free and confidentially share their setting preferences, geographic interests, and career goals. You’re assigned an AT Finder Talent ID. Employers only see de-identified information — things like preferred region, setting interests, and years of experience.

Your name. Your employer. Your contact info. None of it goes anywhere without your permission.

The long-term vision is bigger than filling jobs. It’s about giving employers honest market feedback when opportunities are consistently declined. If the salary is too low, the support is lacking, or the expectations don’t align — employers need to hear that. And right now, they mostly don’t.

AT Finder is, and will always remain, AT first.

124 new jobs on the board this week. One other thing worth noting:

43% of postings were collegiate.

The 20-week average is 27%.

Late spring is when collegiate programs post. Contracts end. Budgets get approved. Staff walk.

If secondary school is your market — the board gets more active in your direction over the next few weeks. Watch for it.

109 new athletic trainer jobs on the board this week. Here’s what stood out.

The PWHL posted three expansion franchises with transparent salaries in three consecutive weeks.

Detroit. Las Vegas. Now San Jose.

PWHL San Jose Head AT: $95,000–$105,000.
PWHL San Jose Assistant AT: $70,000–$78,000.

Three weeks. Three franchises. Real numbers every time. The league is building something and telling candidates what it pays. That is not always the norm in professional sports.

Amazon also posted an Injury Prevention Specialist in Jacksonville, FL at $60,200–$90,200 with sign-on payments and restricted stock units. RSUs in an AT job description. Think about that.

And the most overlooked role of the week:

Liberal USD 480 in Liberal, KS — dual AT and CTE Instructor, 15 sports, ~400 athletes, $71,619–$102,093 ceiling. In a market well below the national average on cost of living. Getting scrolled past because of the zip code.

The Cleveland Browns posted an Athletic Trainer Spotter role this week. $125 an hour. Home games only. NFL concussion protocol oversight from the video booth. Most ATs have no idea this job exists.

A TBI Diagnostic Center in Federal Way, WA is hiring an AT to diagnose traumatic brain injuries using laser eye tracking and QEEG technology. No experience required. $80,000–$85,000. Monday through Friday. I had never seen a role like this before this week.

And UC Davis posted an Assistant Athletics Director for Sports Medicine budgeted at $75,000–$90,000. In California. Where a one-bedroom in Davis runs $1,400 a month. Moving into administration in a high-cost state doesn’t always pay the way people think it does.

That’s three conversations most job boards won’t have with you.
