It is the time of year where Ice Dams may form on houses and can cause damage. They may potentially form when:
- Icicles are visible around the edge of a roof-line.
- Snow is visible on a roof.

To try and help prevent the formation of Ice Dams, the following can be done:
- Safely removing snow from the first few feet above the edge of a roof.
- Safely removing the icicles to alleviate the weight on gutters.
- Removing hanging icicles also minimizes the hazard of the ice dislodging and causing injury.
