Another win for Essential Vermont Malt Whiskey! 🏅✨

Essential recently earned a Silver Medal at the Distillers Challenge International Spirits Competition, adding to a growing list of recognition from some of the most respected spirits competitions in the industry.

Essential Vermont Malt Whiskey is a collaboration with Split Spirits that emerged as a creative solution for repurposing surplus beer resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic shutdown. Made by distilling Switchback Ale, what began as a single project has since grown to include both Essential Vermont Malt Whiskey and Essential Vermont Hopped Gin.

We’re incredibly proud of our team and Split Spirits who helped turn an unexpected challenge into an award-winning Vermont spirit.
