Meet Emily Corley, a member of Vermont’s running community, a Darn Tough Vermont Socks team member, and, now, a MARATHONER!

Taking on 26.2 miles for the first time is no small feat, and Emily did just that at the 2026 M&T Bank Vermont City Marathon & Relay. From registration to training to the finish line, Emily’s journey to completing her first marathon was filled with excitement, nerves, determination, and a whole lot of heart.

Emily shared: “A good goal is one that is scary, but also exciting. The whole process of training is just proving to yourself over and over again that you can do things you didn’t think you could do. That commitment to yourself is such a cool feeling.”

We’re grateful to Emily for sharing her story and for being part of the RunVermont community, and to Darn Tough Vermont for being the presenting sponsor of the relays at the Vermont City Marathon.

Stay tuned for more Meet the Athlete features as we continue highlighting the people who make this community such a special one.

Welcome to July, where the best runs end at the water!

With the warmest days of summer here, there’s nothing quite like ending a run by jumping in the lake, dipping in the river, or simply sitting by the reservoir.

If you’re looking for a post-run spot to cool off, here are a few of our favorites:

1. Lake Champlain: 13 miles of paved bike/run path along the lake

2. Huntington River: 3-mile out and back up Dugway Road

3. Waterbury Reservoir: Up to 3-mile one way out and back up Little River Road

4. Lake Willoughby: 4.4-mile out and back trail up Mt. Pisgah

5. Indian Brook Reservoir: 2-mile trail around the reservoir

6. Blueberry Lake: trail network offers 7 miles of interconnected, multi-use singletrack

Have fun and be safe out there! 😎🌊

There’s more to summer running than just logging miles.

If spring was all about building your base, summer is the season to sharpen things up. Whether you’re adding track workouts, tackling hill repeats, or mixing a little speed into your weekly routine, our latest blog, Summer Speed, breaks down ways to build strength, confidence, and pacing for everything from solo miles to our upcoming Island Vines 10K, 5K and Youth Fun Run.

We’re also talking about heat management, recovery, and staying consistent through community, so you can keep showing up, stay healthy, and enjoy the process all summer long.

On this , we're revisiting the 2026 Half Marathon Unplugged. It's only been a few months, and somehow we're already feeling nostalgic.

Sunshine, speedy miles, food trucks, and the best crowd energy all morning long.

Until next April, we'll be holding onto these memories and maybe plotting our next PR (or costume choice! 🍌).
