Expanding access for adolescent mental health care.

We’re pleased to share that Optum Behavioral Health has expanded its medical policy to include coverage for Deep TMS™ therapy for adolescents aged 15 and older with confirmed major depressive disorder (MDD) — now adding over 48 million covered lives to the growing list of payers supporting this important option.

Deep TMS is FDA-cleared as an adjunct therapy for adolescents with MDD, building on its established role in adult care and supported by robust clinical evidence.

This coverage expansion reflects continued progress in broadening access to non-drug treatment options for young people facing depression.

The FDA has granted 510(k) clearance for TMS as an adjunctive treatment for Major Depressive Disorder in young people ages 15–21.

Real-world data from more than 1,100 patients across 35 centers showed strong safety and meaningful improvement in depression symptoms.

This clearance expands access to a much-needed, noninvasive treatment option for younger patients and supports continued innovation in neuromodulation.
