π Distracted Driving Enforcement Results β April 2026 π
The Burr Ridge Police Department recently concluded its participation in Aprilβs Distracted Driving Awareness Month campaign, and we want to share the results with our community:
πΉ 66 citations issued for distracted driving
πΉ 31 additional citations for other traffic violations
Distracted driving continues to be a serious safety concern. Even a brief moment of inattention can have life-changing consequences. Our officers conducted high-visibility enforcement efforts throughout the month to remind drivers to stay focused and keep their hands on the wheelβnot on their phones.
Although the campaign has ended, enforcement will continue. We urge all motorists to make safe driving a daily habit.
We also thank our partners, including the Illinois State Police and local highway safety teams, for their collaboration in this important effort.
π΅ Remember: U Drive. U Text. U Pay.
Letβs work together to keep Burr Ridge roads safe.

π΅π Put the Phone Away or Pay β April Traffic Enforcement Campaign ππ΅
This April, in recognition of Distracted Driving Awareness Month, the Burr Ridge Police Department is proud to participate in the Distracted Driving Enforcement Campaign.
We are partnering with the Illinois Department of Transportation, the Illinois State Police, and local law enforcement agencies across Illinois to remind drivers that distracted driving is dangerous and against the law.
Using your phone while driving puts everyone on the road at risk. During this campaign, officers will be taking a proactive approach to identify and ticket distracted drivers.
π’ Our message is simple:
If youβre behind the wheel, put the phone away. No text, call, or notification is worth a life.
Letβs work together to keep our roads safe.
