Happy 100th heavenly birthday to the grandfather of modern cheerleading, Lawrence Herkie Herkimer! Born and raised in Muskegon, Michigan. Herkie invented the spirit stick, the pom-pom, cheer unis, megaphones, training camps, and competitions at his company NCA. If it weren’t for competitions I’d be living in a van down by the river, so thank you Herkie! 🙆♀️
